The lace repeats are relatively simple so don’t be put off!

SCARF

Cast on 69 sts using 3 mm needles.

DIAMOND EYELET PATTERN

Row 1 ( WS) Knit. Row 2 P1, *yo, p2tog; rep from * to end of row. Rows 3 and 4 Knit. Row 5 and every foll alt row Purl. Row 6 *K4, yo, skpo; rep from * to last 3 sts, K3. Row 8 K2, *k2tog, yo, K1, yo, skpo, K1; rep from * to last st, K1. Row 10 K1, k2tog, yo, *K3, yo, sk2po, yo; rep from * to last 6 sts, K3, yo, skpo, K1. Row 12 K3, *yo, sk2po, yo, K3; rep from * to end of row. Row 14 *K4, yo, skpo; rep from * to last 3 sts, K3. Row 16 Knit. Repeat Rows 1–16 once more then Rows 1– 4 again. Knit 6 rows, decreasing 1 st on the final round. [68 sts]

Row 1 *K6, k2tog, yo, K1, yo, skpo, K6; rep from * to end of row. Row 2 and every foll alt row Purl. Row 3 *K5, k2tog, yo, K3, yo, skpo, K5; rep from * to end of row. Row 5 *K4, (k2tog, yo) twice, K1, (yo, skpo) twice, K4; rep from * to end of row. Row 7 *K3, (k2tog, yo) twice, K3, (yo, skpo) twice, K3; rep from * to end of row. Row 9 *K2, (k2tog, yo) 3 times, K1, (yo, skpo) 3 times, K2; rep from * to end of row. Row 11 *K1, (k2tog, yo) 3 times, K3, (yo, skpo) 3 times, K1; rep from * to end of row. Row 24 Purl. Continue working these 24 pattern rows until work meas approximat­ely 137cm ending with a Row 24.

Next row (RS) Knit, increasing one stitch in the middle of the row. Knit next 6 rows. Now repeat Diamond and Eyelet Pattern lace border as given at the start. Cast off.
