BOOTEES

(MAKE 2) Cast on 3 sts using 4 mm needles and Yarn A. Row 1 (RS) K1, P1, K1. Row 2 (P1, K1) into next st, (P1, K1) into next st, P1. [5 sts] Row 3 (K1, P1) into next st, K1, P1, (K1, P1) into next st, K1. [7 sts] Row 4 (K1, P1) 3 times, K1. Row 5 (P1, K1) into next st, (P1, K1) twice, (P1, K1) into next st, P1. [9 sts] Row 6 (K1, P1) into next st, (K1, P1) 3 times, (K1, P1) into next st, K1. [11 sts] Row 7 (K1, P1) to end. Rep Row 7, 19 more times. Dec 1 st at each end of next and foll 2 alt rows. [5 sts] Next row P1, M1, P3, M1, P1. [7 sts]

UPPER

Row 1 (RS) Using Yarn B, K1, M1, K5, M1, K1 (counts as Row 1 of Chart). [9 sts] Row 2 ( WS) Work from Row 2 of Chart, ending on st 4 of Chart. Cont working in patt, inc 1 st at each end of next and every foll RS row, working the new sts into Chart patt until there are 19 sts. Work 1 row. Cont in Yarn A only. Next row (RS) K6, k2tog, turn, leave rem sts on a spare needle and work each side separately. Work 17 rows straight on these 7 sts. Cast off. With WS facing, slip centre 3 sts to LH needle, rejoin yarn, p2tog, purl to end. Complete to match first side.

CUFF

Using 4mm needles, with RS facing, pick up and knit 16 sts down first side, K across 3 sts from centre then pick up and knit 16 sts. [35 sts] Work in K1, P1 rib for 4 rows.

DIVIDE WORK

Row 1 Rib 17, skpo, rib to end. Row 2 Rib 17, turn. Row 3 P1, yo, skpo, rib to end. Rib 3 rows then rep Row 3 once more. Rep last 4 rows twice more. Rib 1 row. Change to Yarn B and work 1 row in rib. Change to Yarn C and work 1 row in rib. Cast off. With WS facing rejoin yarn to rem sts, rib to end. Row 1 Rib to last 3 sts, k2tog, yo, P1. Rib 3 rows. Rep last 4 rows twice more. Rib 1 row, complete to match first side.

LACES

(MAKE 2) Cast on 2 sts using 4 mm DPNs. *K2, slide sts to other end of needle without turning work; rep from * until i- cord meas 48cm. Cast off.

TO MAKE UP

Join back seam of Upper and Cuff. Attach sole, matching centre back (cast- on edge) to back seam. Thread laces through eyelets in rib.

HOW TO USE OUR CHARTS

Start at the bottom right-hand corner. Read right side rows from right to left and wrong side rows from left to right. A row of squares represents a row of knitting.
