CUSHION

Cast on 80 sts using 4 mm needles. Row 1 (K1, P1) to end.

Row 2 (P1, K1) to end.

Rep these 2 rows once more, then Row 1 once more.

Work in stocking st until work measures 30cm from cast- on edge, ending on a RS row, inc 7 sts evenly across last row. [87 sts]

Next row ( WS) Knit.

Begin Chart:

Row 1 Work Row 1 of Chart or written instructio­ns to end of row, working the repeat section 4 times.

Row 2 Work Row 2 of Chart or written instructio­ns to end of row, working the repeat section 4 times.

Cont working Chart, repeating 20 rows of chart until the front measures 40cm, ending on a Row 10.

OVERLAP

Next row Purl.

Next row Dec 7 sts evenly across row. [80 sts]

Work 10cm stocking st. Fold over to the back, and make sure that the stitches on the needle sit just above the cast- on edge (if they don’t, add or undo rows until they do).

BUTTONHOLE BAND

Row 1 (K1, P1) to end.

Row 2 (P1, K1) to end.

Row 3 Starting with a K1, moss st 6, k2tog, yo, (moss st 11, p2tog, yo) 5 times, moss st 7.

Row 4 As Row 2.

Row 5 As Row 1.

Cast off.

Block and press stocking stitch part of cushion cover. Pin and sew side seams. Sew on buttons to correspond with buttonhole­s.
