Row Break 44 yarn (K2tog) and thread 8 times, through K1. [9 rem sts] sts. Pull tight to fasten. FINISHING 1 First sew the cast-on edge of the Snout to the cast-off edge of the Head. Sew the side edges of the Snout together, adding stuffing as you sew. This seam runs down the centre underside of the Head. Sew on the buttons for eyes using photos as a guide. Then sew together the side edges of the Head, stuffing as you sew. Gather the cast-on sts together at the back of the Head. 2 For each Ossicone, sew the side edges together, and sew the cast-on edge of each Ossicone onto the top of the Head. 3 For each Ear, fold each piece over and sew the side edges together. Sew the cast-on/off edges of each finished Ear onto the side of the Head next to the Ossicones, with the Yarn B side facing the front. 4 For the Body, note that the cast-off sts are the neckline and this is left open. Sew the side edges together, adding stuffing as you sew. This seam runs down the centre back. Gather the cast-on sts together at the bottom of the Body. 5 Using Swiss darning (duplicate stitch) and Yarn C, embroider two eyebrow patches on the front of the Head above the eyes, using Eyebrow Chart as a guide. On the Body, Swiss darn the spots in a random pattern. The Giraffe Patch Ideas Chart suggests some shapes to use for the spots. You might find it easiest to start by decorating around the bottom of the Body, and then working your way up the neck. 6 Sew the underside of the Head onto the cast-off edge of the Body. 7 For each Leg, sew the side edges together adding stuffing. With the seamed edge facing the inside, sew the cast-on edge of each Leg onto the bottom corners of the Body. At the top of each Leg, add 1 or 2 spots in Yarn C using Swiss darning (duplicate stitch). 8 For the Tail, sew the side edges together, then sew the cast-on edge to the bottom back of the Body with the seamed edge downwards.
