Simply Knitting

Treat the mums in your life…

-

…and let’s be honest, non-mums too!We think Mother’s Day should be a time to celebrate all those hardworking ladies we know and love!

1 CAST ON A CLASSIC

We think giving a knitted gift is always the best way to say you care. Not only have you spent time and e ort creating something heartfelt, you may well be delivering a gift that is 100% unique as a consequence. Choosing a classic yarn, pattern and style will guarantee your gift is worn or used for many years to come.

2 TEACH THEM TO KNIT

If your nearest and dearest has yet to learn to knit, o er to spend time teaching them! We all know that knitting is the best way to sit back and relax, but sharing this with others is an incredible gift to give. Why not buy some luxurious yarn and a set of needles, and wrap it up with a card saying, “Give me a call when you’re ready to cast on”?

3 INDULGE IN A CRAFT SHOW

Taking time out to share the things you love can be a wonderful way to say thanks to our mums. If they share your passion for crafting, why not buy a pair of tickets to their favourite show and spend the day indulging your crafty pursuits? With so many to choose from, like Wonderwool, unravel and Yarndale, you’ll be spoilt for choice!

4 TAKE THEM TO A KNIT CLUB

For many mums, sharing time with their loved ones is better than any gift. If you’re already a member, take them along to your favourite knitting group. If you’re yet to discover the joys of knitting with friends, find a local group, join up and embark on a brilliant new knitting journey together.

5 SHOWER THEM IN YARN

All knitters love squishing yarn, after all, it comes with the territory! Treat frugal mums to a bit of yarny luxury – why not pick out a colourful selection of wool or silk rich yarns, or something unexpected and exciting from an artisan dyer?
