Charity Bliss Established 1979 What do you do?

Bliss exists to ensure that every baby born premature or sick has the best chance of survival and quality of life. For 40 years, we have championed the rights of babies born needing neonatal care by supporting families and healthcare professionals, campaigning for change to policy, NHS funding and enabling life-changing research. Our volunteers help families of premature and sick babies gain access to information and support services as well as lending parents emotional support at what can be a very distressing time.

Latest fundraising news Dianne Bennett, one of Bliss’ longstanding supporters, organises a Bliss Knitting Circle with drop-in sessions meeting in South-East England. Last Christmas these fabulous knitters donated and delivered almost 800 Christmas stockings and thousands of other knitted goodies to 42 neonatal units across England and Wales. To find out more about getting involved with this and all of Bliss’ fundraising opportunities, please do get in touch, we’d love to hear!

What can we do to help? Our website has a selection of downloadable patterns to enable you to knit clothes and blankets for premature babies (www.bliss.org.uk/support-bliss/ volunteer/knit-for-premature-babies). Before you get started, check with your local neonatal unit about what items they need. Please don’t send your items to our head o ce, as we won’t be able to post them on to the units! All of our patterns are free to download, but if you use them, we do hope that you’ll consider making a donation to help support our work. Contact details:
