SHAPE BACK NECK

Next row K18 (20: 22: 24: 26), turn and leave rem 35 (39: 43: 47: 49) sts on needle. Working on these last 18 (20: 22: 24: 26) sts only proceed as follows:

Work 6 (8: 8: 10: 10) rows more.

Change to 4mm needles and Yarn A, working in st st (throughout) work 15 (21: 27: 31: 35) rows, inc 1 st at each end of 3rd and every foll 6th (6th: 4th: 4th: 4th) row. [37 (41: 51: 55: 59) sts]

Cont without shaping until Sleeve measures 12 (15: 17: 20: 24)cm, ending with a WS row. Cast off 6 (7: 8: 9: 10) sts at beg of next 4 rows. Cast off rem 13 (13: 19: 19: 19) sts.

NECKBAND

Join shoulder seams. With RS facing, using 3.25mm needles and Yarn B commencing at Right Front, slip 4 (4: 5: 6: 6) sts from stitch holder onto needle, pick up and knit 12 (14: 16: 16: 16) sts evenly up right side of neck, 6 sts evenly down right side of back neck, knit across 17 (19: 21: 23: 23) sts left on a stitch holder at back of neck, pick up and knit 6 sts evenly up left side of back neck, 12 (14: 16: 16: 16) sts evenly down left side of neck and knit across 4 (4: 5: 6: 6) sts left on a stitch holder at front of neck.

RIGHT FRONT BORDER (FOR GIRL)

With RS facing, using 3.25mm needles and Yarn B pick up and knit 7 (9: 9: 11: 11) sts evenly along rib, 30 (38: 46: 52: 58) sts evenly along front edge to Neckband and 6 sts evenly along Neckband. [43 (53: 61: 69: 75) sts]

Next row Knit.

Row 1 *K1, P1; rep from * to last st, K1.

Row 2 P1, *K1, P1; rep from * to end.

Note When working the following row, the stitch on right needle after casting off for each buttonhole is not included in the stitch counts. Next row (RS) Rib 4, cast off 2 sts (rib 8 (8: 10: 9: 10), cast off 2 sts) 3 (4: 4: 5: 5) times, rib 3 (2: 2: 2: 3).

MAKING UP

Place a marker on Front and Back 10 (11: 12: 13: 14)cm down from shoulder seams to mark position of Sleeves. Fold Sleeves in half lengthways and place fold to shoulder seam. Sew Sleeves in position to markers.

Join side and Sleeve seams. Sew on buttons opposite buttonhole­s. Pin out garment to measuremen­ts and leave under a damp cloth for 24 hours. See ball band for pressing and care instructio­ns.
