Cast off.

With RS facing and working on rem 34 (39: 42: 45: 48) sts, slip next 22 (26: 28: 30: 32) sts onto a stitch holder, rejoin Yarn B to rem 12 (13: 14: 15: 16) sts and K to end.

Work the foll stripe sequence: (8 rows Yarn C, 8 rows Yarn B, 8 rows Yarn A) twice, then 8 rows Yarn C, then cont in Yarn B only AT THE SAME TIME as working shaping.

Cast off.

FRONT SHOULDER BUTTONHOLE BAND

With RS facing, using 3.25mm needles and Yarn B, pick up and knit 9 (9: 9: 11: 13) sts evenly from front shoulder and 5 (5: 7: 7: 7) sts along side of Neckband. [14 (14: 16: 18: 20) sts]

Row 1 (WS) *P2, K2; rep from * to last 2 (2: 0: 2: 0) sts, P2 (2: 0: 2: 0).

Rows 2, 4 and 6 K2 (2: 0: 2: 0), *P2, K2; rep from * to end.

Row 3 Rib 2, (yo, k2tog, rib 2 (2: 3: 4: 5) twice, yo, k2tog, rib 2. Row 5 *P2, K2; rep from * to last 2 (2: 0: 2: 0) sts, P2 (2: 0: 2: 0). Rep Rows 5 to 6 a further 0 (0: 1: 1: 1) times.

Cast off.

POCKET

Cast on 44 (48: 52: 58: 64) sts using 4mm needles and Yarn A. Work in st st starting with a knit row for 4 (8: 8: 10: 10) rows.

MOUTH

Row 1 K 11(12:13:15:16) in Yarn A, K 22(24:26:28:32) in Yarn C, K11 (12: 13: 15: 16) in Yarn A.

Row 2 P 11(12:13:15:16) in Yarn A, P 22(24:26:28:32) in Yarn C, P11 (12: 13: 15: 16) in Yarn A.

Rep last 2 rows 3 (3: 3: 4: 4) times more.

Cont using Yarn A only.

Cast on 30 sts using 3.25mm needles and Yarn C.

Row 1 (WS) Purl.

*Row 2 K3, (K2, k2tog) 6 times, K3. [24 sts]

Row 3 Purl.

Row 4 K2, (K1, k2tog) 6 times, K4. [18 sts]

Row 5 (P2tog) 9 times. [9 sts]

Row 6 (K2tog) 4 times, K1. [5 sts]

Cut yarn and thread through rem 5 sts, pull tight to close centre of eye. Sew seam closed.**

ANTENNA (MAKE TWO)

Cast on 36 sts using 3.25mm needles and Yarn C. Row 1 (WS) Purl.

Row 2 K2, (K3, k2tog) 6 times, K4. [30 sts]

Row 3 Purl.

Work as for Eye from * to **.

MAKING UP

1 Using Yarn D embroider pupils onto Eyes.

2 Using image as a guide sew on Eyes and Antennae.

3 Using Yarn C embroider lines from top of Pocket to bottom of Antennae.

4 Sew Pocket to centre front, lining up cast-on edge with end of front ribbing.

5 Join side and Sleeve seams.

6 Place centre cast-off edge of Sleeves to shoulder seams. Set in Sleeves.

7 Weave in ends and block gently to measuremen­ts, following yarn care instructio­ns on the ball band.

8 Sew on buttons at shoulder.
