Tell us about Hedgehog Fibres…

I got sucked into the knitting world big time in 2008 after I knitted a sock using a YouTube tutorial – and the rest is history! I immediately knew I wanted to create my own line of hand-dyed, soft, squishy yarns. I’m a very visual person and have a huge passion for colour. Hedgehog Fibres is an extension of my personal style and a trend-setter in the industry.

What can knitters find at your shop?

We o er a wide variety of lovely soft yarns in fun and unusual colourways, from lace weight all the way to bulky and everything in between! You can buy our yarn directly on our website www.hedgehogfibres.com or through a network of over 500 retailers worldwide. If you’re in the area (Cork, Ireland) our studios are open to the public and you can shop from a selection that varies depending on what we have available at the time. You can even get a tour of our processing and packaging areas!

What are this year’s highlights?

I have several fun collaborations lined up that I’m really excited about, both with stores and designers. I love coming up with new colours, techniques and applications and I am always thinking of the next thing, trying new ways of laying the dye on yarn and new colour combos. It’s always about colours. I love colours and the brand progresses as my preferences shift and evolve. There will definitely be new colours coming out in 2020 and we have an exciting new base coming.
