LET IT GO…
My husband treated me to your magazine (issue 189) which had a Stylecraft Simply Classics pattern booklet included. I loved this little jacket and knitted it in the same colour (Platinum) but substituted the knitted flower with a Frozen appliqué for my granddaughter. I’m sure she will love it!

I’m sure she will Val – it’s beautiful!
NATTY NEEDLES
When I received the bamboo pins with issue 196, I realised how much they looked like tiny knitting needles! I measured them and found they were 3mm in diameter, so I cast on some 4ply yarn and amended the Innocent smoothie DK pattern to make some tiny hats to raise money for AGE UK. The little needles fit into a bag or pocket for knitting on the go!

What a great idea Alison, I love it!
KNITTING ALONG
I thought you might like to see my finished KAL throw. I thoroughly enjoyed knitting each instalment and I am very pleased with the result. As I had enough Stylecraft Kon-Tiki cotton and acrylic yarn in my stash I decided to use it for the throw, rather than buy new, much to my husband’s relief! I hope I have done the pattern justice.

You certainly have Barbara – that looks fabulous! We’ve seen lots of versions now of Ann Franklin’s lovely blanket, but this is a treasure – the patterning looks really crisp in the cotton-blend yarn. And great job using up stash too, I love it when I find just the right yarn for a project at home and can cast on straight away!
SPECIAL SHAWL
Here is the shawl my mum spent many loving hours knitting for me last Christmas. Due to an accident she had two years ago, she has limited use of her arm, using lighter needles and aran yarn rather than DK. So the shawl she knitted me is very special and took a lot of hours, e ort and pain at times to complete. It is great to see her getting knitting back into her life as it bringing her so much joy and I am sure it will help with her recovery.

What a thoughtful gift Samantha – I hope your mum continues to recover.
