This month we chat to Kristina Boulden of Romney Marsh Wools

Tell us about Romney Marsh Wools...

Established in 2008, Romney

Marsh Wools is owned and run by Kristina and Paul Boulden and based on the family farm on the Romney Marsh, Kent, where we have a flock of 1,200 Romney ewes and 150 Merino ewes. Romney Marsh Wools was born from a firm belief in raising the awareness of all the benefits wool can bring and a wide range of products are produced using our own Romney wool, all of which are made in the UK by the very best British makers. From blankets, socks and throws, the best is on display.

What can knitters find at your shop?

Our showroom is open at the farm Monday to Friday and our full range is available for visitors to browse. Highlights for knitters are our Romney and lambswool yarns, raw fleece and topped fleece as well as our knitting kits and patterns. One of the newest additions to the range is our Chunky Jumper Knit Kit, which is a great project to take on ready for the colder months ahead. As we’re based on our farm, there’s also the opportunity to meet our sheep and lots of visitors use it as an opportunity to check out our Shepherds’ Huts, which we take bookings for throughout the year.

What are your up-and-coming highlights?

We’re looking forward to being able to get out and about again to see people at shows and events, and will continue to welcome visitors to the showroom as well as o ering nationwide delivery of our whole range. We are always busy working on new products to release – our new knitted winter hats launched in September, designed by Sarah Hartles and made using our own Romney yarn.
