Materials:

Katia, Azteca.

Content: 53% wool, 47% acrylic. 100 g = 18 m.

Needles:

Size 5 and 6 mm

Tension:

Using size 6 mm needles, in pattern st: 12 sts and 15 rows = 10x10 cm.

Take time to check tension.

Tubular pattern:

1st row: * knit into knit, bring yarn up and slip 1 st purlwise, bring yarn down * repeat from * to *. Always repeat this row.

Pattern st:

1st row (right side): knit all sts 2nd row (wrong side): p1, * k1 inserting RH needle in center of st on row below, p1 * repeat from

* to *.

Repeat these 2 rows.

Back

Using size 6 mm needles cast on 69 (75) 81 (87) sts. Work in 1x1 ribbing. When total length is 3 cm continue to work in pattern st.

Shoulders and neckline: When total length is 58 (59) 60 (61) cm, bind off (cast off) the first 19 (21) 22 (24) sts for one shoulder, then for neck leave on hold 31 (33) 37 (39) sts and bind off (cast off) the last 19 (21) 22 (24) sts for the other shoulder.

Front

Work same as back.

Sleeves

Using size 6 mm needles cast on 32 (34) 36 (38) sts. Work in 1x1 ribbing. When total length is 3 cm continue to work in pattern st, increasing, 1 st from each edge, every 8 rows: 7 times 1 st.

You have: 46 (48) 50 (52) sts. When total length is 45 (46) 47 (48) cm bind off (cast off) all sts loosely. Work other sleeve in the same way.

Finishing

Sew one shoulder seam using side seam technique.

Collar: Using size 5 mm needles work the held 62 (66) 74 (78) sts from neck edge. Work in 1x1 ribbing.

When total length is 20 cm, work 8 rows in tubular pattern and bind off (cast off) using tubular.

Sew the other shoulder and collar seam.

Cord: Using 2 strands of yarn and following graph A, make 1 cord, 100 cm in length.

Weave the cord through the tubular pattern, pulling out the ends in center of front.

Sew in sleeves, matching center of sleeve top to shoulder seam and the beginning of sleeve shaping 19 (20) 21 (22) cm from shoulder seam. Sew side and underarm seams using back stitch technique. Steam the garment.
