Tension:

25 sts and 34 rs/rds in stocking stitch on needle size 3 mm = 10 x 10 cm. 24 sts and 34 rds in lace pattern on needle size 3 mm = 10 x 10 cm.

Stocking stitch: Knit (k) on right side (RS), purl (p) on wrong side (WS), k in every round (rd).

Lace pattern, stitch count divisible by 6: Follow the pattern chart.

The chart shows only the odd number rds. In the even number rds, work sts and yarn over needle (yon) knitwise.

Repeat pattern rds 1-8.

The dress is worked in one piece up to the armholes.

Using circular needle size 3 mm, cast on 150 (156) 168 sts. Set a stitch marker (sm) at each side seam = 75 (78) 84 sts each on front and back. Work lace pattern in the rd. When the work measures 19,5 (20,5) 21,5 cm, continue in stocking stitch. At the same time, decrease (dec) 2 sts at each side seam as follows: To dec after a side seam, knit 2 stitches together (k2tog). To dec before a side seam, slip 1 st, k1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch (sl 1, k1, psso). Work these decs in every 4th rd a total of 3 (4) 4 times and then in alternate rds 7 (5) 5 times = 110 (120) 132 sts = 55 (60) 66 sts each on front and back. When the work measures 27,5 (28,5) 29,5 cm, divide the work at the side seams for the armhole. Work each half separately.

Front

Armhole shaping: Cast off 6 sts at both sides for the armhole = 43 (48) 54 sts. Neck edge shaping: When the work measures 30 (32) 34 cm, cast off the middle 17 (20) 22 sts. Now work each half separately. When the work measures 38 (40) 42 cm, cast off the remaining 13 (14) 16 sts at the shoulder. Work the other side in reverse.

Back

Work back same as front.

Finishing

Sew the shoulder seams. Using hook size 3 mm, work 1 rd of double crochet (dc) along the neck edge, armholes and lower edge of the dress.

Now work 1 rd as follows: * 1 slipstitch (sl st), 3 chain (ch), skip (sk) 1 st * and repeat from * to *. To end rd, work 1 sl st into the first st. Twist 4 strands of yarn to a rope approx. 70 (80) 90 cm long. Weave your yarn rope through the last rd of holes in the pattern.
