HOW TO USE OUR CHARTS

Start at the bottom right-hand corner. Read right side rows from right to left and wrong side rows from left to right. A row of squares represents a row of knitting.

SIZE 0-3M ONLY

Rep last 2 rows twice more. [42 (-: -: -: -) sts]

SIZES 9-12M, 18-24M AND 2-3YRS ONLY

Work 2 more rows in st st, then rep Dec row on next row and - (-: 0: 0: 1) foll 4th rows. [- (-: 46: 50: 50) sts]

Next row Purl.

ALL SIZES SPLIT BACK

Row 1 (RS) K1, ssk, K18 (20: 20: 22: 22), turn, leaving rem 21 (23: 23: 25: 25) sts on holder. [20 (22: 22: 24: 24) sts]

Row 2 Purl.

Row 3 K1, ssk, knit to end. [19 (21: 21: 23: 23) sts]

Row 4 Purl.

Rep last two rows until 9 (10: 10: 11: 11) sts rem, ending after WS row. Place sts on hold.

With RS facing, rejoin yarn to rem [21 (23: 23: 25: 25) sts] Next row Knit to last 3 sts, k2tog, K1. [20 (22: 22: 24: 24) sts] Next row Purl.

Rep last two rows until 9 (10: 10: 11: 11) sts rem, ending after WS row. Place sts on hold.

SLEEVES (MAKE 2)

Cast on 28 (28: 30: 32: 36) sts using 3.25mm needles.

Work in garter st (K every row) until piece measures 2cm, ending after WS row.

Change to 4mm needles.

Row 1 (RS) Knit.

Row 2 (WS) Purl.

Inc row K1, M1, K to last 2 sts, M1, K1. [30 (30: 32: 34: 38) sts] Continue to work in st st throughout, working inc row on next RS row and 3 (4: 4: 4: 4) foll 4th (4th: 6th: 8th: 10th) rows. [38 (40: 42: 44: 48) sts]

Work straight in st st without shaping until sleeve measures 15.5 (17.5: 19.5: 24.5: 27)cm from cast-on edge, ending with a WS row.

SHAPE RAGLAN

Cast off 4 (5: 5: 5: 5) sts at beg of next 2 rows.

[30 (30: 32: 34: 38) sts]

Dec 1 st at each end of next row and 4 (4: 5: 5: 5) foll 4th (4th: 4th: 4th: 4th) rows, then dec 1 st at each end of 6 (6: 6: 7: 9) foll RS rows. [8 (8: 8: 8: 8) sts]

Put rem sts on holder.

NECKBAND

Join raglan seams.

With 3.25mm needles and RS facing, starting at left back, K9 (10: 10: 11: 11) held left back sts, K8 (8: 8: 8: 8) held left sleeve sts, pick up and knit 11 (11: 11: 13: 13) sts from left side front neck, K8 (10: 10: 10: 10) held centre front sts, pick up and knit 11 (11: 11: 13: 13) sts from right side front neck, K8 (8: 8: 8: 8) held right sleeve sts, K9 (10: 10: 11: 11) held right back sts. [64 (68: 68: 74: 74) sts]

Rows 1 to 5 Knit. Cast off loosely using a sewn cast off.

MAKING UP

Sew side and sleeve seams. Using a crochet hook, chain 8 sts at left back neck edge and attach to make a loop. Sew button on the opposite side. Weave in ends and block to measuremen­ts.
