Tell us about your company…

For many years I worked as a fibre artist but in 2020 I combined this work with my love for knitting to become a hand dyer. Now I create small batches of limited edition yarns which I sell all over the world through my Etsy store to my customers who include knitters, weavers, macramé artists, rug makers, crocheters and embroiderers. I work from my garden studio in rural Suffolk and I truly love what I do – I consider myself very lucky!

What can knitters find at your online shop?

I hand-dye and sell a range of yarns from lace weight all the way up to super chunky in various repeatable and one-of-a-kind colourways. All of my yarns are ethically sourced and my superwash yarns are treated using the most up-to-date environmentally responsible technique. I love to use surprising colour combinations on unexpected bases and I think this is what attracts such a wide range of makers to my work. I also sell stitch markers, which I make myself, and I’ll be adding a collection of project bags soon too.

What are your highlights for 2022?

I’m really looking forward to getting out on the road in 2022 to take my yarn to festivals and shows as I’ve missed connecting with other knitters and dyers. I’m also working on an overhaul of my website (www.elizabethpawle. com) and in my studio I’m planning to dye up a collection of one-off sweater sets.
