“Across productivity, wellness and peace of mind demonstrated by the announcements unveiled at CES, we continue to prove that you can successfully combine technological innovation with affordability and accessibility. This will continue to be showcased at MWC next month, where we will be announcing more flagship devices that will be introduced to Australian consumers over the course of 2017,” said Sam Skontos, VP and Regional Managing Director, Alcatel South-east Asia and Pacific.

While the company remained mum on what would replace the discontinued Pixi and Pop ranges, they were happy to talk about their latest phablet on their docket, the Alcatel A3 XL.

Featuring a 6-inch high definition display and enhanced speakers (powered by Arkamys), Alcatel didn’t pin down too many of the specs for the A3. However, they did confirm that it’ll pack dual-flash cameras and a fingerprint recognition feature.

The Alcatel A3 XL will be available in Australia mid-year, alongside the 5-inch Alcatel A3 which will retail for $199
