Voice activation technology coupled with fast new wireless technology is revolutionising the consumer electronics industry. At the same time display technology as reflected in our awards is getting bettter and better. The battle between Samsung with their ULED TV Technology and shortly Micro Dot technology and LG with their OLED display TV’s is driving the development of new display capabilities. At the same time brands as Bauhn and Hitachi are delivering extremly competitive pricing for a 4K UHD TV. When it come to brands one Company has been a standout during the past year, Logitech. This Company has excelled whether it be with their new generations keyboards and mice or their Jaybird headphones or Ultimate Ears sound systems. In the sound market brands like Q Acoustic and Yamaha are delivering systems that are excellent value for money. This has been achieved through the development of new component technology which is fast changing the sound market as more traditional sound Companies move to take on the likes of Sonos who pioneered the advancement of the networked or connected sound system. This past year was also the year of MIMO networking technology with brands such as D Link delivering blisteringly fast routers that significantly improves downloads such as Netflix or 24-bit music. All in all, 2017 was a great technology year and 2018 is shaping up to be even better.
