If you’re looking for a great sounding, compact, soundbar, turn your eyes and ears to the Yamaha YAS-108/ATS-1080.

This all-in-one only stands just over 5cm high, ensuring it’ll sit under any TV (small screen or large). Alternatively, you can easily wall mount it using the built-in keyholes.

An ingenious onboard gyroscope optimises the sound depending on its orientation, so you’ll always get the best performance. And with DTS Virtual:X, its sonic performance is properly cinematic.

The YAS-108 sports a pair of 3-inch subwoofers with bass ports, a midrange cone driver and dual 1-inch dome tweeters. There’s an additional output for an optional external subwoofer, if you want to boost bass.

Two HDMIs, one with ARC (Audio Return Channel), offer the ability to switch between your TV’s on-board sound and another connected device, a BluRay player, for instance, while HDMI CEC enables you to turn the soundbar on and off with your telly remote.

Additional connections include optical digital audio and analogue Aux. For wireless streaming, you can connect two Bluetooth devices at the same time, meaning you can stream music from your phone and your Amazon Echo device without having to disconnect one.

As well as decoding Dolby Audio and DTS Digital, there’s support for 4K Ultra HD and HDR pass-through, and HDCP 2.3, ensuring compatibility with the latest 4K Ultra HD devices. Also, with Yamaha Clear Voice technology, you won’t need to strain to hear movie dialogue.
