The Yamaha YSP-5600BMK2 may look like a regular sound bar, but it’s a complete Hi-Fi system using cutting-edge Yamaha Digital Sound Projector technology. Combining the skills of an AV receiver with a dazzling array of speakers, it can immerse you in movie soundtracks, rock you with explosions and enthral you with plot-twisting dialogue.

This may be a movie machine without peer, but you can also use all 46 speakers for music.

The Yamaha YSP-5600 secured its place in history as being the very first Dolby Atmos and DTS:X all-inone, now the latest iteration pushes the boundaries of what is expected from a soundbar system.

Dynamic surround sound is deployed from an impressive 46-speaker array. The bar houses six dedicated vertical 28mm speakers either side, plus two 11cm woofers, and 32 steerable horizontal beam drivers, to provide 7.1.2 channel surround sound. Every beam driver is steerable and driven by its own independent amplifier circuit.

To further enhance the YSP-5600BMK2’s astonishing performance, beam and sound optimisation features, with the aid of the supplied IntelliBeam microphone, enable everyone to achieve highly accurate sound adjustments to best match their listening environment.

Naturally, the latest 3D surround sound formats, Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, are supported. There’s also bespoke CINEMA DSP modes for Music, Movies and Entertainment sources. Enhanced dialogue clarity is achieved thanks to Yamaha’s ClearVoice technology.

The YSP-5600BMK2 includes a wired subwoofer to plumb the bass depths with the option of becoming wireless with an additional wireless kit (SWK-W16 ).

Connectivity includes four HDMI inputs, and one output with ARC (Audio Return Channel), plus two digital optical audio inputs and one coaxial input, and one stereo analogue input.

This may be a movie machine without peer, but you can also use all 46 speakers for music, with AirPlay integration enabling streaming from Apple devices. Furthermore, as the YSP-5600BMK2 is part of the MusicCast eco-system, you can stream any music content to other MusicCast products wirelessly and seamlessly. It’s Bluetooth enabled too.

The YSP-5600BMK2 rightly claims its crown as Yamaha’s flagship soundbar. This system has to be heard to be believed.
