Controlling Xbox One with Google Assistant & Home
Controlling your Xbox One is now easier than ever before, and although the integration between Google Assistant and the Xbox One console is currently in beta, our handy guide below will make sure you can easily learn how to set this up yourself.
Once you do, you’ll be able to ditch the controller (kind of) and begin controlling your Xbox with the power of voice using any Google assistant-powered speaker. Make sure to learn and try some of our essential commands to get started.
Connect Xbox One To Google Assistant
Don’t be put off by the fact this new integration is still in beta – it’s super simple to get started and connect your Xbox One through your Google Home app.
1. First, join the official Google group.
2. Then, sign into the Xbox One console.
3. Now, in the Google Home iOS or Android app, tap Add > Set Up Device > Have Something Already Set Up? Before searching for ‘[beta] Xbox’.
4. Sign into the Microsoft account you use for the Xbox.
5. Continue to follow instructions, link the Xbox and name it.
If you’re having trouble finding the Xbox within the Google Home app, go to Settings > Kinect & Devices > Digital Assistants on your console and ensure the setting is enabled.
