Easy multiroom via VSSL

-

For those considering a home full of distributed music, VSSL offers a system of smart multichannel amplifiers that can power multiple in-ceiling or in-wall speakers in your home. And usefully they have both AirPlay and Chromecast built-in, and Spotify Connect as well. Each unit controls multiple zones, and can be set as the default ‘speaker’ for any Google Home device, and so controlled without the need to specify a “play to” command.

For Chromecast and Spotify Connect, the audio streams are source independent, meaning it’ll grab the internet URL for the audio you’re listening to and continue to play it even when the source device drops off the local network.

The $2695 VSSL A.3 connects up to three stereo zones to your home audio system, giving you the freedom to use any app on any device to play any audio within those three zones. You can have three different devices listening to three different songs in three different zones simultaneously, or enjoy the same song in all three zones at once. Each unit also has three local line-level inputs available. The $5495 VSSL A.6 raises that to six zones, so 12 channels of 50W power, along with six local line-level inputs.

And it’s all very easy to use, claims the company, saying “Seriously, we have grandmas tell us how much they love their VSSL.” The products are distributed here by Advance Audio: www.advanceaudio.com.au
