EISA AWARDS 2017/2018

Now we’re a shiny new EISA member ourselves, Sound+Image gets to bring you the winners of these prestigious multi-magazine awards for 2017-2018.

All the TV & AV winners in full...

Sound+Image joined EISA this year as part of the group’s expansion beyond Europe — where better to start than Australia! Two US magazines were also enrolled — Stereophile and Sound & Vision, making a total of 53 magazines in 25 countries taking part in the voting process that decides the final EISA Award winners, which were announced at a gala dinner in Berlin on 1st September, timed to take place during IFA.

EISA has been careful in checking equipment that might vary in different locations, including Australian model numbers where available; one notable case is TCL’s winning TV, which has a JBL soundbar attached in Europe but a harman/ kardon one here in Australia, even though the TV portion is identical. We review that very TV this issue anyway, so you have a second way to judge its local performance.

Some others may have minor variations on the European versions, but we were pleased to find that our own views coincide closely with those of our new mainly-European colleagues, and we believe our EISA membership will bring a new source of ideas and expertise to our Australian readers.
