Street Machine

SUCH A DRAG

-

I HAVE been a long-time subscriber to your wonderful magazine, which I refer to as The Bible. My collection goes back to the 80s (see photo). It has always been a simple Fathers’ Day present; I say to my daughters: “Just renew my subscription and I will be rapt.”

Anyway, the reason for my letter is to lodge my complaint against the amount of drag cars that make an appearance in the magazine. Please don’t get me wrong; I can and do appreciate the whole drag scene – the technology, the culture, the following and the crowds. I love the drags, but my point is that I have paid my hard-earned dollars to see street machines – things my mates build and I can get involved with on a street level. Now you have graced the cover of the October issue with a drag car. Surely in the whole street machine culture of Australia, you could find one car to replace the drag car?

I love Street Machine, but if this brand continues to use drag cars throughout, then I will need to consider unsubscribing; that is not what this magazine is about. Drag cars should get their own magazine. Bob Cross, email
