POWER CRAZY

-

DESPITE reliably making just shy of 1500hp, the 406ci small-block Chev in SINISTR is actually from NRE’S Hot Rod Series. Starting with a 9.025in-deck splayed-cap Dart block, NRE fills it with goodies like 6in forged Oliver rods, JE forged pistons, Callies 3.75 Magnum crank and solid-roller cam. Up top they add CNCED Brodix heads (with Inconel valves) and NRE’S Alien billet intake, fed gale-force winds by a pair of 72mm symmetrical turbos. The intake’s first eight injectors feed the 406 PULP, then at a predetermined boost level, the second set of eight injectors kick in, feeding the hungry monster straight C16 race gas. The combo is good for a dyno-proven 1451hp and 1337lb-ft of pavementripping torque, all at 5600rpm and 28lb of boost!
