TEAMWORK

-

A High-school football coach walks into the locker room before a game, looks over to his star player – who’s not exactly the sharpest tool in the shed – and says: “I’m not supposed to let you play since you failed maths, but we need you in there. So, I have to ask you a maths question, and if you get it right, you can play.”

The player agrees, so the coach looks intently into his eyes and says: “Okay, now concentrate hard and tell me the answer to this. What is five plus 12?”

The player thinks hard for several moments. “19?” he asks.

The coach sighs. “No, no, no! It’s 17! Sorry kid, I can’t let you play.”

All the other players in the team start yelling: “Come on coach, give him another chance!”

The coach thinks for a bit. “Okay, one last chance. What’s two plus two?”

The player scrunches up his eyes, deep in thought, desperate to come up with the right answer. At last, he answers: “Four?”

“Did you say four?” the coach exclaims, excited that he had got it right. Just then, all the other players on the team begin screaming: “Come on coach, give him another chance!” Hayes Tewpidd, email
