RADIAL VERSUS THE WORLD

THE Lights Out meeting from South Georgia Motorsports Park is fast becoming a must-do for Aussies travelling to the US. This year’s meeting was a cracker, with Stevie ‘Fast’ Jackson setting a new world record for a radial-tyre car over the eighth-mile – 3.737 seconds at 199mph. Jackson made it through to the quarter-finals in the ‘Radial vs the World’ class, but spun in the deep end after winning the race, with Joe ‘Nova’ Albrecht taking out the win in his blown Hemi-powered 2006 GTO, on a 3.837-second pass against Mark Woodruff’s twin-turbo Corvette.
