SIMPLE SWAP?
REGARDING your tech article in the February issue about performing an LS swap in one day – I think you are massively oversimplifying this task. The article is titled All In A Day’s Work, but you have three blokes on it and make reference to needing three days to get it done.
I think it’s quite irresponsible to publish these articles as it gives backyarding rednecks encouragement to modify cars, without really giving the reader the full story. For example, what other upgrades are needed now you have all that power in a 70s vehicle? And you have made no reference to the dramas involved with cooling/heating, clutch pedal and odometer – once again, oversimplifying things.
Why not do it thoroughly as a six-part project, from parts-sourcing through to rego?
Otherwise, I enjoyed the mag. Love the HG van! Chris Emory, email
