TIME ATTACKED

WE TOOK the Carnage MX5.7 up to World Time Attack at Sydney Motorsport Park last month and, boy, did we have a good time! The drift cars alone blew our minds, most of them being powered by monster LS combinations. We were also stoked to see Jarrod Pryor – winner of the Sidchrome Cobra – there with his family, enjoying his first car show in the Coyote-powered beast. We’d love an SM reader to win the Sidchrome Mustang – turn to page 100 to check it out.

HISTORY LESSON

HOLDEN has wound up local manufacturing, but the marque’s rich history has been preserved in a new coffee-table book, Holden: The Archives Collection. Weighing in at a hefty 5kg, the 400page tome charts the company’s story, from its beginnings as a saddlery to its transformation into an automotive manufacturer and the way it has helped shape the collective Australian psyche ever since the first FX rolled off the line in 1948. It also includes replica Holden badges, old press releases and vehicle brochures, and never-before-seen photos. Head to holden.iconseries.co for more info.

NEXT!

THE January 2018 issue of Street Machine goes on sale 21 December and it is a 244-page monster, just in time for Christmas. We’ll have all the action from Street Machine Drag Challenge, our Summernats 31 survival guide and a look at the insane No Mercy radial meeting from the US. In the meantime, head to streetmachine.com.au for daily injections of horsepower.
