CHIP FOOSE AT MOTOREX

> MR OVERHAULIN’ IS SET FOR TWO BIG DAYS AT MEGUIAR’S MOTOREX IN MELBOURNE, 26-27 MAY

-

AMERICAN car builder and TV personality Chip Foose will be a special guest at this year’s Meguiar’s Motorex, thanks to the good folks at 3M. Chip has been out to Australia quite a few times, but Motorex will be his most extensive assault on an Aussie car show yet.

“Chip is spending two full days at the event,” says Motorex’s Andy Lopez.

“There will be heaps of opportunities for the public to meet him; he’ll be doing autographsigning sessions, drawing sessions, panel chats and hosting a special breakfast seminar for apprentices and TAFE students.

“We’re putting a big focus back on the Real Street element of Motorex and we expect to at least double the amount of Real Street cars on display. To encourage those guys and girls, Chip will select a group of his favourite Real Street entrants and present them with their awards at a Sema-style drive-on presentation. We are really stoked that Chip was able to come to the newlook Motorex and we’re really grateful to 3M for making it happen.”

And speaking of SEMA, the plans for their first integration with Motorex are proceeding apace. “Motorex will be the highlight of a fourday program that SEMA is hosting for over 20 exhibitors,” says SEMA’S Linda Spencer. “The participants will be visiting local workshops before the event and we’re putting on some social events as well.

“During the event itself, the SEMA contingent will have their own area inside the Performance Garage,” Linda continues. “This will be tradeonly on Saturday morning and then will open to everyone. This is the first time that any SEMA show has been accessible to the public.”

The US exhibitors will include some big names, including Borla, Edelbrock, Flowmaster and QA1. “We’ve done an extensive industry survey that found that Australia was our most important export market after Canada,” says Linda. “So events like this provide great opportunities for business on both sides of the Pacific.”

Aussie businesses keen to be a part of the SEMA program at Motorex can register at Sema.org/australia.
