HQ HOLDEN RUN

BIG ups to Scott Mcalinden and the crew behind the annual HQ Holden Run for another successful event. Scott took over this year from Mark and Emma Sauer, who founded the run in 2012. As well as getting over 250 examples of one of Holden’s most iconic models together for a cruise, the event raised over $3000 for Rural Aid. “I used to work in the mines in Central Queensland and saw how hard it was for the farmers out there with the drought, and thought we could do something to help them,” Scott said. You can check out a gallery from the event at whichcar.com.au/streetmachine.

BORDER BATTLE

ALBURY-BASED Street Machine photographer Luke Hunter is staging his first car show, 26 October! Dubbed Border Battle, it is a State of Origin-type deal that will be held at Junction Place, on the site of the historic Wodonga railway station. “We’ve got a great car culture up here,” said Luke. “The idea is to bring all the tribes together and showcase what we have to the broader community.” There will be judged trophies, a People’s Choice award, food trucks, live music vendors and good vibes aplenty. For more info, search for Border Battle 2019 on Facebook.
