HOT GOSSIP

-

GODZILLA XA GOES EIGHTS WE WERE already pretty excited about the potential of Ford’s 7.3L Godzilla platform, but with Nathaniel Ardern’s XA Falcon running deep into the eights recently, we’re even more ready for it! Topped by a Harrop TVS blower, the built 7.3L in Nathaniel’s XA is good for 1300hp on 16.8psi and E85, controlled by a Fueltech FT600. With Frank Marchese from Dandy Engines at the helm, the 1835kg monster went 8.31@152mph at Sydney Dragway with an early shut-off. And, as far as we’re aware, it’s the first Godzilla-swapped streeter in Australia. Watch this space!

DRAG CHALLENGE 2022 SCHEDULE DRAG Challenge 2022 is go! The event kicks off on Tuesday 25 October at Heathcote Park Raceway, before sending the 300 entrants clear across Victoria to South Coast Raceway in Portland on Wednesday 26 October. Next is Mildura’s Sunset Strip on Thursday 27 October, and – if all goes to plan – we’ll be back at Swan Hill Dragway on Friday 28 October. The event will finish in spectacular fashion at Heathcote Park Raceway, Saturday 29 October.

NEXT! YOU’LL be doing well to miss the August issue of Street Machine on the newsstands, such is the attention-grabbing nature of the cover car we’ve got planned. Inside you’ll find Muscle Garage’s wicked Barra-swapped Fox-body Mustang; Chris Dicker’s oh-so-cool, retro-styled pro street HQ; Michael Ellard’s killer little Corolla fresh from its Motorex debut; and a bunch of other cracking feature cars. We’ll also bring you the action from Sydney’s Hot Rod & Custom Auto Expo and Summernats Slam at Heathcote Park Raceway, not to mention a detailed look at the last Holden V8 to win Bathurst. All this and more in the August issue of Street Machine, on sale 14 July!
