Blushing in the dark

A wonderful night of fundraising to help cancer patients in our community

-

Five live chefs on show, a fashion launch, a live artist painting and live music – Blush After Dark was one to remember when it took place on Saturday, October 22 at Walton Stores.

Walton Stores precinct hosted 170 guests for the event, catering to the committee’s desire for a fundraiser with a twist.

Blush raises awareness and money for the city’s private breast cancer nurses and for their patients.

Blush’s Sharyn Donaldson says the journey of wellness for women with breast cancer can be a long and multi-stage process.

“We are passionate about supporting women with this disease, and we are honoured we get to help these women on their journey of diagnosis to recovery,” Sharyn says.

"What is also of upmost importance is that every single cent from Blushing Week and all related Blush activities stay local, to support our local men and women and their support networks."

The fundraiser featured five activated Asian inspired cooking

demonstrations where guests sampled dishes from the new restaurant Junk, a launch of a new designer label to Toowoomba and Darling Downs artist Coralee Mccarthy painting a surprise piece that was auctioned on the night.

The fabulous Stephen Henry Band also had everyone up dancing the night away.

A number of sponsors made the event possible including Create Home Loans, Walton Stores, Dornbusch Partners, Newlands Group and Robertson and Scannell.

The event was the finale to this year’s Blushing Week after kicking off with the Cosmetic Elegance Survivor Forum with about 250 women in attendance.
