Women succeeding in Real Estate

-

Meet the women driving the growth of Success Realty (QLD’S) property management and sales division. Angela Harms (Principal and Sales Consultant) and Jenny Hayne (Property Manager) share a passion for property and juggle working fulltime with raising a family). In the past 8 months, the girls have doubled the Business’ rent roll and are on track to triple it by the end of the year. In regards to sales, Angela and David (Angela’s husband) have carved out a niche of selling renovated character homes, renovators and brand new units and the pair have already sold over $12 million in total property sales since 1 July 2016.

While the girls are happy with the results they have achieved so far, and are on a mission to aggressively grow the business, there is a lot of hard work that goes into building a business in the cut throat world of real estate. There are approximately 60 real estate agencies operating in Toowoomba, and winning new business requires great marketing and even better customer service.

Fortunately, Toowoomba locals have embraced the emergence of independent agencies, with many dominating total sales over the last 12 months. “I think one of the main reasons independents are so strong locally, is because we have to deliver excellent customer service to get referral business”, said Angela.

Jenny started with Success Realty in early 2016, and is the perfect Property Manager. She is well-connected within Toowoomba’s social circle and brings 17 years of management experience and exceptional customer service. While managing tenants, landlords and maintenance are the key elements to the job, having a bigger picture view of how to get the best result for the owner and the tenant is her first priority.

David and Angela launched Success Realty in 2014. Angela is responsible for the day to day management, marketing, business development and selling. “David and I LOVE real estate. We think it is the best way for an average Australian to build wealth. We started our property portfolio in 2005 and see our job as helping our clients make money through property. Whether it is seeking development opportunities or getting the highest price for an owner, the purpose is always to create wealth. You help people make money and they reward you with more business”.

“The concept is simple, but the execution of the strategy is when you need to be on the ball. The market is always changing in regards to how buyers engage with property listings. As property marketers, our job is to attract people to Open Homes and get enquiries…this is where the marketing of a property gets tricky. You need to get that component right to get buyers. Then the fun begins with negotiations and this is where any good agent will thrive”, said Angela.

And thrive they have. Over the last 12 months, David and Angela have sold 65 properties. Angela says, “at the end of the day, you have to create a lifestyle that you love, and that is what this Business has allowed us to do”.
