Meet mazda’s new CX-5
Mazda’s CX-5 is Australia's SUV superstar.
As a nation, we've bought more of these mid-size high-riding five-seaters than any other SUV in each of the past four years.
A new generation CX-5 has just been launched with fresher styling, improved specification and safety, a quieter and more refined cabin and more assured handling.
Prices remain steady, with the range starting at an appealing $28,690 for the entry-level Maxx model, and a choice of four other grades — Maxx Sport, Touring, GT and Akera. Body styling is sharper while retaining the familiar CX-5 style. There are more soft touch materials inside replacing hard plastics, and cabin noise has been greatly reduced when driving.
From entry-level you score extras such as a seven-inch touchscreen, reclining rear seats, push button start and added standard safety of blind spot monitoring, reverse camera and smart city brake support.
Specification improvements and a more powerful 2.5-litre engine arrives as you climb the range, with the range-topping GT and Akera models feeling genuinely premium with their leather cabins, power heated seats and 19-inch wheels.
Another bonus is boot space, which has been improved by 40-litres over the old CX-5.
