Best Wilson Buckley Family Law chooses to practice solely in family law and believes that it is a powerful choice to work with people at what is often their most vulnerable.

As the team at Best Wilson Buckley knows, they’re not on anyone’s bucket list to meet in life due to the circumstances surrounding family law, there are consequently a number of very determined and caring people on the team, and that’s why they’re celebrated — for the unique, wonderful human beings they are.

Meet Toowoomba family lawyer Samantha Iwers, who has practised exclusively in family law for the past three years. Why family law?

I think that family law is very different to many other areas of law. There are rarely any winners and losers in family law, and the best outcome for everyone involved is often achieved by working towards an agreed resolution, particularly in parenting matters. Of course the involvement of the court is necessary in some matters, however negotiation and compromise continue to play a crucial role in limiting the financial and emotional stress for our clients. Family law is always challenging, with no two matters being the same, but with the challenge comes a great deal of satisfaction in being able to guide clients to the other side of a very difficult stage of their life. What do you most look forward to in autumn?

My birthday! Any excuse for a celebration with family and friends. I also love walking through the streets of Toowoomba when the leaves on the trees have turned that beautiful earthy brown and orange colour. What is the best event you have been to?

Definitely the Hogmanay New Year’s Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland. The streets were transformed with music, food and culture, and the atmosphere between the locals and those who had travelled from far and wide was incredible.
