Q & A with Ellie Bee

-

Name... Eleanor Burgoyne but most people recognise me as Ellie Bee. Even some of my official certifications have my alias on them. How long have you lived in Toowoomba? I have lived in Toowoomba for 18 years this year, but I am originally from the UK. How long have you worked as a makeup artist? I did my first make up training course six years ago. What is the first fashion shoot you did? I was fortunate to partner with Smoke & Mirrors Boutique on my first fashion shoot. I remember feeling very nervous but equally excited at the opportunity. I was very new to the industry at that stage but working with the team on the day had me feeling very much in my element. The photos turned out amazingly! I definitely learnt a lot. My next fashion shoot was for Style magazine and it’s very interesting looking back on how much my make-up style has developed. What do you love about living and working in Toowoomba? I feel like I have really seen Toowoomba grow. I love the community feel and that everyone is willing to help each other out. I have been fortunate enough to be surrounded by so many talented and creative people. I live just outside of Toowoomba in Goombungee and I never thought I would love the country life but it’s so peaceful and beautiful. What is happening in the creative scene of Toowoomba? There are so many cool art exhibitions that really think outside the box and push creative boundaries. I did some training a couple of years ago about the creative process and its really opened my eyes to the journey a creative goes on to get to a final piece, be it art, music, dance or something else. Describe your own personal dress style and makeup. Lots of black! I have a real range though — somedays I’ll be rocking an Adidas hoodie and others ripped jeans and boots or a high-waisted skirt and t-shirt. Make-up wise I love a warm smoky eye and I am a sucker for lipstick.
