CRAVE CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR
To be held at Mary Mackillop Catholic College in Highfields on Saturday, December 16 from 4pm to 9pm, the Crave Christmas Spectacular is seeking to celebrate the local community and bring together families of all ages to kick off the festive season in style.
This event came to be when the committee members of Crave Food Festival and the Highfields Village Markets heard that the annual Highfields Block Party would not be running this year. Inevitably, the committees joined forces to create the very first Crave Christmas Spectacular.
The event also extends invitations to local not-for-profit organisations to participate and raise awareness and funds for their groups.
Organiser of Crave Food Festival Emma Ehrlich and organiser of Highfields Village Markets Amy Manz will be helping coordinate Crave Christmas Spectacular this year.
“There will be food vendors and food speciality stalls, an open air cinema, kids activities including jumping castles, jumbo slide, giant board games, face painting, boutique market stalls for last-minute gifts, live music, bar facilities, fireworks and, of course, Santa arriving in style via helicopter!” Amy adds.
“In addition, there will be a variety of displays and activities from local not-for-profit organisations.”
Many of the event’s activities are free or for a small charge to cover costs.
“We invite not only Highfields locals but surrounding communities to be involved,” Emma says.
“We have a fabulous local community and any chance to celebrate is fantastic.
“It’s a way that everyone can meet up in a family-friendly environment, share a meal and catch up before the craziness of the festive season gets into full swing.”
