This year, on February 14, why not do something just for you? Small things have a huge impact.

February 14 is typically the day we show that special someone in our lives how much they mean to us.

We shower them with gifts, romantic cards and other gestures to declare our love but what steps do you take to show love and care towards yourself?

Here are four little tips to help make every day feel like Valentine’s.

It doesn’t need to be anything extreme; sometimes the smallest things have the biggest impact.

1. Pucker Up – Do you ever look in the mirror and think ‘who is this tired individual and where did that fabulous lady go’? If the answer is YES then reach for the lipstick! It’s amazing how a touch of lippy in a great colour can make you feel.

2. Put Down the Can – I don’t know about you but every now and then the idea of washing and blow drying my hair sounds all too hard and I reach for the dry shampoo – crazy because nothing beats the feeling of freshly washed and styled hair! So, on days when the motivation is low, resist the urge. You won’t regret it.

3. List It – We all write lists of things we need to do and at the beginning of the year some may even make a list of things they want to improve but how often do you write a list of things you are grateful for or things you love about yourself? Give it a go, you will be surprised at how uplifted you feel.

4. Treat Yourself – It could be anything from a new top, nail polish, a magazine or even a coffee from your favourite cafe. Sometimes something just for you can really put a pep in your step.
