SMOOTH TRANSITION

- BY FELICITY WRIGHT, FASHION COLUMNIST

March in Australia — no longer summer, but not quite winter. For many of us ladies, this can throw the most organised wardrobe into a bit of a spin of confusion.

Summer dress — goosebumps, knitted jumper — sweating bullets. What is a girl to do?

Don’t fret ladies, here are a few tips and tricks to see your stylish self through. Add more layers: I know this sounds pretty simple, but don’t underestimate the power of a lightweight jacket this time of year. Pop it over your favourite summer dress and finished it with a loafer or ankle boot and you are ready for whatever the weather gods throw at you.

Button up: Take your pretty summer skirt and add a crisp button up shirt (white or denim are my faves) roll the sleeves up to elbow length to give more of a relaxed look.

Crop it: A lightweight crop pant will definitely get a run for their money during this funny season. This will be a great way to continue to wear all your lovely summer tops but add more coverage than shorts or a flippy skirt. A light wash denim or cotton still gives that Summer feel but can be worn into the cooler months.

Denim jacket: Enough said really! This bad boy will be your wardrobes saving grace. It adds instant warmth but not too much and there really isn’t anything you can’t put it over!

The midi: This length of skirt is so versatile. The midi shows just enough leg that it doesn’t look out of place if the sun is shining or hasn’t been seen for a week. Team it with one of your favourite summer tops, denim jacket and a lightweight scarf and you are ready to roll. Happy layering!
