BUSH CHRIST­MAS EX­HI­BI­TION 2016

When: De­cem­ber 2 to De­cem­ber 11, 9am to 6pm Where: Ma­sonic Cen­tre, 58 Neil St, Toowoomba What: Whether you’re look­ing for the per­fect gift for your loved ones or just shop­ping for your­self, Bush Christ­mas will have some­thing to suit your needs. This cel­e­bra­tion of cre­ative talent from re­gional artists has ev­ery­thing from orig­i­nal art, jew­ellery, books and cards, gar­den art, and home­wares to var­i­ous tex­tiles, beauty prod­ucts, and gourmet foods. There will be about 100 ex­hibitors show­cas­ing their hand­made goods. Bush Christ­mas will be open late on Tues­day, Wed­nes­day and Thurs­day nights.

TOOWOOMBA’S CHRIST­MAS WON­DER­LAND

When: De­cem­ber 3 to De­cem­ber 24, 7pm to 10pm Where: Queens Park Gar­dens, corner Lind­say and Camp­bell St What: The Gar­den City’s fes­ti­val of lights is back! Hosted by the Lions Club of Toowoomba West, there will be about four acres of lights, en­ter­tain­ment and other fes­tiv­i­ties.

There will be a bar­be­cue sausage siz­zle each night, as well as ice creams, tea and cof­fee, Lions Christ­mas cakes, a raf­fle, and glow prod­ucts avail­able to pur­chase.

4GR MAY­ORAL CAROLS BY CAN­DLE­LIGHT

When: De­cem­ber 4, 4pm to 8pm Where: Lower Queens Park, corner Lind­say and Camp­bell Sts

What: This free festive event is for the en­tire fam­ily.

Food and rides will be avail­able from 4pm, with pre-show en­ter­tain­ment from 5.30pm.

The main event of carols will kick off at 6.30pm, fin­ish­ing with a bang around 8pm with fire­works.

TOOWOOMBA’S CHRIST­MAS TREE FES­TI­VAL

When: De­cem­ber 7 to De­cem­ber 16, 9am to 9pm Where: Mid­dle Ridge Unit­ing Church, 264 Sten­ner St, Mid­dle Ridge What: On an­nu­ally, this year’s theme is Around the World. En­ter with a gold coin do­na­tion and en­joy the dozens of trees dec­o­rated by lo­cal com­mu­nity groups, church groups, schools and in­di­vid­u­als. There will also be daily con­certs at 10.30am and 7pm. Re­fresh­ments and hand-made items will be avail­able to pur­chase as well.

FEL­TON HAR­VEST CHRIST­MAS IN HIS­TORIC STA­BLES

When: De­cem­ber 10, 6.30pm to 9.30pm Where: Fel­ton Har­vest, 223 Coun­sell Rd, South­brook What: En­joy a festive three-course meal and drinks in his­toric sta­bles.

Funds raised from the event will go to the pal­lia­tive care unit at Beauaraba Liv­ing in Pittsworth.

Fel­ton’s his­toric sta­bles were built shortly af­ter World War II, and the menu will be fo­cused on lo­cally pro­duced, sea­sonal food that high­lights the Fel­ton Val­ley and Dar­ling Downs.

CLAS­SIC CABARET CHRIST­MAS EDI­TION

When: De­cem­ber 10, 7pm, and De­cem­ber 11, 2pm Where: Choral Hall, corner Bridge and Raff St, Toowoomba City

What: En­joy one of two festive per­for­mances by the Toowoomba Choral So­ci­ety.

Get in the festive mood with a va­ri­ety of mu­si­cal en­ter­tain­ment from the choir and its mem­bers.

In­cluded is a com­pli­men­tary plat­ter of Christ­mas treats for each ta­ble, and a bar will be avail­able for drinks in­clud­ing tea and cof­fee.

CAROLS AT SPRING BLUFF RAIL­WAY STA­TION

When: De­cem­ber 18, 4pm to 6.30pm Where: Spring Bluff Rail­way Sta­tion, Mccor­mack Dr, Spring Bluff

What: Spend a re­lax­ing Sun­day af­ter­noon at the beau­ti­ful Spring Bluff Rail­way Sta­tion as the Jim Miller Big Band per­forms carols.

Bring along a chair or a blan­ket and rel­ish the af­ter­noon sun.

BEERS AND BUBS

When: De­cem­ber 21, 6.45pm to 9.30pm Where: Fitzy’s Ta­pes­try Room, Mar­garet St, Toowoomba What: A one-night ses­sion to help ex­pec­tant dads learn how to sup­port their part­ner through the birth of their baby.

The fast-paced ses­sion will have an in­for­mal and con­ver­sa­tional at­mos­phere, per­fect for dis­cussing all things bub. En­try is $60 and in­cludes a pub din­ner, with drinks ad­di­tional. Book at beer­sand­bubs.com.au/ book-in-toowoomba/.

NEW YEAR’S EVE FIRE­WORKS

When: De­cem­ber 31, 5pm to 8pm Where: Lower Queens Park, corner Mar­garet and Lin­day St, Toowoomba City What: Come on down to Frog’s Hol­low in Queens Park for an evening of fam­ily fun. From 5pm there will be free rides, games, prizes, cir­cus acts and en­ter­tain­ment. The event will fin­ish off with fire­works start­ing at 7.45pm.
