BUSH CHRISTMAS EXHIBITION 2016

When: December 2 to December 11, 9am to 6pm Where: Masonic Centre, 58 Neil St, Toowoomba What: Whether you’re looking for the perfect gift for your loved ones or just shopping for yourself, Bush Christmas will have something to suit your needs. This celebratio­n of creative talent from regional artists has everything from original art, jewellery, books and cards, garden art, and homewares to various textiles, beauty products, and gourmet foods. There will be about 100 exhibitors showcasing their handmade goods. Bush Christmas will be open late on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights.

TOOWOOMBA’S CHRISTMAS WONDERLAND

When: December 3 to December 24, 7pm to 10pm Where: Queens Park Gardens, corner Lindsay and Campbell St What: The Garden City’s festival of lights is back! Hosted by the Lions Club of Toowoomba West, there will be about four acres of lights, entertainm­ent and other festivitie­s.

There will be a barbecue sausage sizzle each night, as well as ice creams, tea and coffee, Lions Christmas cakes, a raffle, and glow products available to purchase.

4GR MAYORAL CAROLS BY CANDLELIGH­T

When: December 4, 4pm to 8pm Where: Lower Queens Park, corner Lindsay and Campbell Sts

What: This free festive event is for the entire family.

Food and rides will be available from 4pm, with pre-show entertainm­ent from 5.30pm.

The main event of carols will kick off at 6.30pm, finishing with a bang around 8pm with fireworks.

TOOWOOMBA’S CHRISTMAS TREE FESTIVAL

When: December 7 to December 16, 9am to 9pm Where: Middle Ridge Uniting Church, 264 Stenner St, Middle Ridge What: On annually, this year’s theme is Around the World. Enter with a gold coin donation and enjoy the dozens of trees decorated by local community groups, church groups, schools and individual­s. There will also be daily concerts at 10.30am and 7pm. Refreshmen­ts and hand-made items will be available to purchase as well.

FELTON HARVEST CHRISTMAS IN HISTORIC STABLES

When: December 10, 6.30pm to 9.30pm Where: Felton Harvest, 223 Counsell Rd, Southbrook What: Enjoy a festive three-course meal and drinks in historic stables.

Funds raised from the event will go to the palliative care unit at Beauaraba Living in Pittsworth.

Felton’s historic stables were built shortly after World War II, and the menu will be focused on locally produced, seasonal food that highlights the Felton Valley and Darling Downs.

CLASSIC CABARET CHRISTMAS EDITION

When: December 10, 7pm, and December 11, 2pm Where: Choral Hall, corner Bridge and Raff St, Toowoomba City

What: Enjoy one of two festive performanc­es by the Toowoomba Choral Society.

Get in the festive mood with a variety of musical entertainm­ent from the choir and its members.

Included is a compliment­ary platter of Christmas treats for each table, and a bar will be available for drinks including tea and coffee.

CAROLS AT SPRING BLUFF RAILWAY STATION

When: December 18, 4pm to 6.30pm Where: Spring Bluff Railway Station, Mccormack Dr, Spring Bluff

What: Spend a relaxing Sunday afternoon at the beautiful Spring Bluff Railway Station as the Jim Miller Big Band performs carols.

Bring along a chair or a blanket and relish the afternoon sun.

BEERS AND BUBS

When: December 21, 6.45pm to 9.30pm Where: Fitzy’s Tapestry Room, Margaret St, Toowoomba What: A one-night session to help expectant dads learn how to support their partner through the birth of their baby.

NEW YEAR’S EVE FIREWORKS

When: December 31, 5pm to 8pm Where: Lower Queens Park, corner Margaret and Linday St, Toowoomba City What: Come on down to Frog’s Hollow in Queens Park for an evening of family fun. From 5pm there will be free rides, games, prizes, circus acts and entertainm­ent. The event will finish off with fireworks starting at 7.45pm.
