Style Hair

As the seasons change so too does our mood for colour.

-

Something light and summery for summer is fun, but what are the current trends for the colder months? Here at Style we have been investigating…and it’s good news. They are beautiful!

Snow queen grey /ash blonde

Hair so light in colour that it’s almost ethereal. While this trend came in in a small way a few years ago, with more silvery tones, it is now back with more of a matte finish. Think chilled greys that give that snow queen vibe. Also known as the granny trend, this look can be worn with one overall colour, or darker roots. It’s the perfect colour for winter, as it matches beautifully with all the usual winter palette colours, as well as with the pastels, greys and neutrals that we all have in our wardrobe.

Black to red ombre blend

What is the major benefit of wearing this look over winter? Red is infamous for its upkeep, and the sunshine of the warmer months plays havoc on red tones. Ask your colourist to create the look by keeping hair black at the roots and gradually fading into a lovely warm tone of rich red. A good colourist join these seamlessly with a lovely ombre blend. This look will also make your eyes pop (especially those with blue or green) with cut that favour a fringe or face-framing style.

Rose gold (pink tones brown)

Oh lovely rose gold. This trend arrived in a flurry across everything from sunglasses to nails to clothing, and now it’s even made its way to hair. The darling of the colour scene at the moment, this trend gives your whole look an edgy yet subtle influence, and is super on-trend. A mixture of pink, copper and brown tones, rose gold adds some warmth to those winter blues.

Brown to caramel balayage

This look is beautifully rich and adds a little warmth to your look, without having the light summery tones of other blonde looks. Starting with a dark brown at the roots, gently fade out to rich, warm caramel tones and end with a lighter blonde-caramel for a sun-kissed finish. This style can also give you a look of maturity, without sacrificing style, which can be great for the office!
