The love story of Meghan Harris and Matthew Bryant proves that young love, high school sweethearts and — more than anything — love at first sight, really does exist. On February 17 the couple tied the knot at Preston Peak Winery in a stunning ceremony surrounded by their family and friends. “I went to Centenary Heights State High School for years eight to 11, and every day I would walk past this boy’s house,” Meghan says. “I was in love with him, I thought he was so attractive — he was the ‘boy on the corner’ for four years. “We never spoke and I never knew his name but when I started at St Joseph’s College we officially met and I found out it was Matt.” Matt remembered her as the girl who walked past his house everyday, and while they’d never spoken, the pair started dating soon after that. “Meghan is a strong, passionate, caring woman that would do anything to help someone out,” Matt comments. “She is always thinking of others before herself.” The wedding had a simple décor, with white and green throughout the reception and bouquets of greenery as the table decorations. Candles were scattered on the tables and fairy lights were beautifully strung across the roof. The rings of the couple tell a special tale. Meghan’s wedding band is a white gold diamond ring Matt gave her when she was 17. “He gave it to me and said he promised to love me forever,” Meghan says. “I have worn it every day since and then I got it resized and now use it as my wedding ring.” Matt’s wedding ring is his father’s gold ring. “His dad passed away three years ago from cancer and his mum gave it to him,” Meghan says. On her wedding day, Meghan wore a spectacular fitted lace dress from Ferrari Formalwear with a long train, with the lace in a delicate pattern of tiny flowers. The pair honeymooned in America straight after the wedding for three weeks, visiting Las Vegas, San Fransisco, New York and Los Angeles. In terms of the future, Matt and Meghan are excited. “Our plans include having children in a few years and, as Matt is a builder, he will also be selling our current home and then renovating a few houses,” Meghan says.
