Festival time!
Held over May 20 and 21, the Hampton Festival and Art Exhibition was a huge success
It’s a festival under the gumtrees that delights more visitors each year over May. The Hampton Festival, a medley of arts, cooking demonstrations, kids activities, local produce stalls and live music, once again has patrons enraptured. The weather turned on its charm also for the day, with blue skies and sunshine over a strong crowd of thousands through the gates. The festival is a favourite on the local calendar, and showcases local produce on offer. With wines on showcase from Stanthorpe and even further afield at St George, sheep cheese, apples, dragonfruit, locally brewed coffee and pulled pork and slaw burgers, Hampton Festival has something to offer everyone. There was also children’s entertainment and cooking workshops, as well as demonstrations from a lineup of interesting chefs including celebrity chef Paul West of River Cottage television series fame. Paul had the crowd enthralled with his multitasking of comedy and cooking.
