WHEN FAMILY IS FOREVER
This beautiful wedding had a unique perspective
When Matthew Holmes and Kate Waldron got married, they wanted the emphasis to be on those close to them.
“Our wedding had a big focus on family, taking into account that everyone goes their separate ways at a certain stage in life when everyone starts having their own families,” Kate said.
“My husband was very fortunate to have all four of his grandparents alive, present and well so this was very special for him.
“We also wanted to make sure that the family friends who have been there throughout our upbringings were a special part of the day.”
In homage to this, Kate’s bridesmaids were her sister and two best friends, while Matthew’s included long-time friends and a brother.
“We also had my dearly beloved nephews Matthew and Tyler Kirkman as ring bearers,” Kate said.
While the ceremony was held at St Patrick’s Cathedral, the reception at Kingfishers Cafe allowed for a more casual atmosphere with guests able to catch up and enjoy themselves.
Before becoming engaged at Christmas-time last year, Matthew and Kate had been together for four years, as well as being close friends for some time beforehand.
