The re­gion’s best pro­duce will be on the ta­ble this Oc­to­ber in Chin­chilla. Cel­e­brat­ing food, cul­ture and di­ver­sity, the an­nual One Long Ta­ble event will be trans­form­ing Heeny St in to an out­door din­ing fare.

This year’s event is ex­pected to be the big­gest one yet ac­cord­ing to Chin­chilla Com­mu­nity and In­dus­try Inc. events co­or­di­na­tor Gaye Smith.

“Last year was such a suc­cess­ful event and we are hop­ing to con­tinue that this year,” she said.

“From what I heard there was around 2000 at­ten­dees last year and we are hop­ing to hit the 3500 mark this time so there will be more stalls and more en­ter­tain­ment.”

New food ven­dors to join the line-up this year in­clude Garry’s Wood­fired Pizza, The Greek Truck, The Cheese Van, Macey’s Hot Bread and Panashe.

“There are go­ing to be a va­ri­ety of mul­ti­cul­tural cuisines, rang­ing from Mex­i­can to Thai to Ger­man,” Ms Smith said.

“The food is served more like tapas style and is af­ford­able enough so that you can try sev­eral dif­fer­ent dishes.”
