HOW TO APPLY FAKE EYELASHES

-

STEP 1 SIZING THE LASHES

Gently remove the fake eyelashes from their packaging to avoid damaging the strands.

Wrap the lash band around your finger to soften the spine.

Place the fake eyelashes against your natural lash line without any glue. If the lash extends past the outer edge of the eye, make a note of how much you will need to trim.

STEP 2 TRIMMING

Trim off excess strands, starting from the outer corner and working towards the middle.

Some people may find they have slightly different-shaped eyes, therefore measure both eyes separately and cut the fake lashes accordingly.

For a more natural look you can feather the lashes. Cut every other strand about 3mm shorter than the next.

STEP 3 APPLYING THE LASHES

Use a small synthetic brush to apply glue to the base line of the fake lashes, concentrating the glue on the outer and inner edges.

After applying the glue, gently fan the lashes with your hand until the glue becomes tacky. Never blow on the lashes as this will introduce germs.

Using tweezers, place the middle of the strip on the centre of your lashes. Press the band down along your lash line, concentrating on the outer and inner corners.

Hold the strip in place for 40-60 seconds to make sure it is secure. Then slowly and gently release, ensuring the lashes don’t lift off at the corners of the eye.

STEP 4 APPLY MASCARA AND RETOUCH LINER

Apply a coat of mascara by sweeping underneath the natural lash and pushing upwards into the fake ones.

It is also recommended to retouch the eyeliner to conceal where the fake and natural lashes meet.

STEP 5 REMOVAL

To remove, soak a cotton pad in an eye make-up remover. Hold the cotton pad over your closed eye for 20 seconds to loosen the glue.

Repeat as necessary until the lash strip loosens enough to lift away without pulling your skin.

STEP 6 CLEANING

After removing your fake lashes, place them into a shallow bowl. Pour eye make-up remover into the bowl so the lashes are soaked. Set aside for five minutes.

Remove lashes from the bowl and place onto a clean paper towel. Use tweezers to remove any excess glue.

Store the eyelashes in their original packaging.
