Chained-up char­ity bid linked to crash

A MO­TORIST al­legedly crashed his car into a mo­tor­bike rider af­ter be­ing dis­tracted by a char­ity bikini car­wash.

NT Po­lice Duty Su­per­in­ten­dent He­len Braam said the 22-year-old male was charged with driv­ing with un­due care.

The in­ci­dent hap­pened at 12.40pm yes­ter­day out­side Beau­re­paires on the Stuart High­way in Parap.

Women were giv­ing cars a good clean in their two­piece bathing suits, rais­ing money for char­ity — while chained up.

The 65-year-old rider of the mo­tor­bike was trans­ported to Royal Dar­win Hos­pi­tal with cuts to his leg.
