Chained-up charity bid linked to crash
A MOTORIST allegedly crashed his car into a motorbike rider after being distracted by a charity bikini carwash.
NT Police Duty Superintendent Helen Braam said the 22-year-old male was charged with driving with undue care.
The incident happened at 12.40pm yesterday outside Beaurepaires on the Stuart Highway in Parap.
Women were giving cars a good clean in their twopiece bathing suits, raising money for charity — while chained up.
The 65-year-old rider of the motorbike was transported to Royal Darwin Hospital with cuts to his leg.
