Katy keen on Aussie cred

KATY Perry says she wants to be as popular as Pink in Australia and says she is prepared to put in the time here to make it happen.

The US pop star, whose single Roar is the longest running No. 1 on the ARIA charts this year, with nine straight weeks at the top, arrives in Australia today to promote her new album, Prism, and will also perform on Sunrise and The X Factor in coming days.

‘‘I am going to be spending a lot more time in Australia and New Zealand because it seems like people are resonating with the music,’’ Perry said.
