Good Bye Joan looks one to beat

-

CHAMPION greyhound trainer Jamie Hosking’s Good Bye Joan carries top form into tonight’s race-five feature $1750 NT Government Sprint at Winnellie Park.

The three-year-old bitch has won four of her past seven races.

She does not have a great deal of experience over 537m but is still highly capable and has the advantage of box one.

Kennelmate Summer Chant and Black Jungle (for trainer Richard Smith) appear the main threats.

For race one at 6.16pm, Graeme Ferns is in the box seat to add to his nine wins this year.

Five of the six runners in this race are from his stable, with Torment, Slate and Pontypiari the top chances.

Out There Jerry (Andrew Lasker) is a leading contender in a quality line-up in race two.

Chris Blackman’s Faddeev (race three), Vunivalu (race four for Robert Brown), Dashing Geek (race six for Lasker), Reno Aden (race seven for Hosking), Madd Nitro (race eight for Brown) and Russell Savige’s Night Harmony and Stanislav (race nine) are others to watch.

Meanwhile, at last night’s Darwin Greyhound Association awards, Hosking (Trainer of the Year), Greg Aldam (Owner of the Year) and Lasker (Best First-Year Trainer) were the recipients.
