Beauty queens take note — there’s a new makeup store in town and it’s likely to become your second home

DARWIN’S newest makeup store has opened at Jape Homemaker Village, but this beautiful place isn’t just another makeup shop. As well as stocking some of the best brands around, Beauty of Tatum also offers eyelash extensions, spray tans, makeup lessons, and eyebrow tinting and waxing. It really is a one-stop shop for all your beauty needs.

An amazing service is the bespoke foundation offering — no need to try and guess your foundation shade online anymore, the ladies here will custom-blend your foundation to suit your skin tone.

Bringing brands such as Make Up Store, Kryolan and Modelrock to Darwin, I’m super excited I can get these goodies right here in the Territory.

One of my favourite products available at Beauty of Tatum is the Make Up Store Face Mist (left, $51). This setting spray is ideal for Darwin’s sweaty weather, and will refresh, hydrate and cool your skin.

Use it throughout the day to set your makeup and revitalise your skin. It contains aloe vera to help calm and soothe.

I’m always in search of a long-lasting lipstick that won’t make my lips feel or look dry, and was delighted to see Beauty of Tatum stocks Modelrock Liquid Last to Matte Lipsticks ($35). These liquid varieties last for hours without leaving your lips looking chapped. They are highly pigmented so a little goes a long way.

I wore the Coco Loco shade (right) this week and only had to top it up once — that never happens. What really sold this product to me is that it is 100 per cent vegan, and paraben- and cruelty-free.

Another favourite is Make Up Store’s Sculpt Excellence Foundation range (right, $70). I used this a while ago and found it glides on, making blending your foundation easy.

This is great for those with more of a yellow undertone. I’d recommend using with a soft foundation brush.

The range is oil free with a creamy texture, and the finish is semi matte, so it won’t leave your face looking flat, like some matte foundations can.
